Our Story

Lindsay and I randomly met at the Mission Junction Tim Hortons in the fall of 2020. She was an educational assistant and student, I was a tradesman working in Vancouver. We would hike often and found a shared passion for both animals, gardening and a want to help people in the little ways we could. In the midst of the pandemic we watched as food prices skyrocketed and people talked about possible food shortages amongst all the other crazy pandemic discussions. At the time if you could even find eggs in the store, they were nearly $10 a dozen. We came up with the idea to rent and renovate a portion of an old dairy barn, an unused garden, get nearly 100 chickens, sell fruits, veggies and eggs for $5 a dozen off the front steps of my home on Egglestone Avenue in Mission. Looking back it was pretty crazy loading coolers in our trunks before work, spending every night and weekend caring for the hens, washing and packaging eggs and tending to the garden, but it never really bothered us. We started doing farmers markets and it just clicked. We love taking care of our hens, growing fresh food and bringing low cost, high quality food to our local community.

Our next goal is to bring fresh, local, affordable food right to the doorsteps of our neighbours across the lower mainland. I don’t have words to describe how grateful I am for the love and support we’ve felt throughout our journey, but to all of our supporters out there, thank you
